In the article, “[CES 2020]SAMSUNG SHOWCASES 5G TELEMATICS SYSTEM AND DIGITAL COCKPIT”, Lim(2020) stated that a fresh revolution from Samsung Electronics is being created. Samsung Electronics developed this brand-new idea of a 5G-based telematics system. Digital Cockpit gives connected experiences for car travellers. Lim implied this new showcase of “Digital Cockpit allows users to enjoy infotainment in a variety of driving environments more safely and joyfully”. It would be installed in BMW’s iNEXT 1 as a start off. Lim said, “Telematics is an interdisciplinary field that encompasses telecommunications, vehicular technologies, road transportation, road safety, electrical engineering and computer science." Lim stated this telematics control unit enables drivers to access and experience different modes of it towards expanding the 5G technology worldwide for the first time. Lim added the concept of this creation is to allow drivers to download high-quality maps and its features in real-time and have undisrupted video conferencing. Lim also further explains the dynamic functions and features of the Digital Cockpit despite its advanced development amongst other competitors.

To further add on, according to Samsung(2020), the website stated that Digital Cockpit has 8 cameras and displays that uses Samsung Exynos Auto V9 chip which enables functions of the cockpit to run at the same time. The driver can use "facial recognition or smartphone fingerprint reader" to show driver's programs assembled for the day or future and other useful information like visual navigation information from the Digital Cockpit Front Display.

The Digital Cockpit has "QLED Local Dimming technology and split-screen mode" of the Digital Cockpit Front Display which enables others in the car to use the display without disturbing the driver. According to the article "Samsung Digital Cockpit 2020 mashes up 8 displays, 5G, Bixby, and DeX" (Ewidson, 2020), he said the amazing "53.7-inch MicroLed Tail Display displays messages and warnings" to cars behind the car or outsiders who are looking at the car. According to Samsung(2020), the Console Display placed under the Center Information Display is useful to control various controls of the display and vehicle. By sitting at the back, passengers can connect their phones or tabs to the Digital Cockpit to use to adjust the air-con, bright light of the car and its audio system. The webpage also stated when drivers or passengers are connected to Samsung Dex2, they can do their work on their personal gadgets on the car's Center Information Display. In addition, it allows users to connect two or more handphone devices together at one time.

Another feature of the Digital Cockpit is the "Bixby in the car". The webpage implied that Bixby has strong connectivity to allow the car to communicate with the driver. The Bixby can observe drivers status by the Driver Monitoring System. For instance, when the driver is drowsy while driving for a large distance, the system may tip to play some music or taking precautions to treat the drowsiness. To add on, the Bixby is smart enough to monitor the maintenance of the car and engine oil levels. When the car has to go for repair works or low fuel, it alerts the driver to do so.

Comparing to the older version of Digital Cockpit 2019, according to the webpage, "A Car with Cockpit: How Digital Cockpit Solutions are Making This a Reality"(2019), "Digital Cockpit 2019 has 6 Digital Displays including an Independent passenger Display and two Rear Seat Display". The latest version is advanced with 8 displays. In comparison to the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit, the webpage stated the user can change the settings to see maps and add music playlist or to view phone calls. Whereas, Digital Cockpit 2020 is personalized based on the driver's connected mobile phone or pc. However, according to Tyson(2020), he said the Digital Cockpit concept may take some time to be established.

In conclusion, the Digital cockpit is very advanced in-car dashboard technology which is smart and creative enough to provide drivers and passengers useful features and function. These features and functions would enlighten the drivers travelling experience. Compared to its competitors in terms of design and services it provides, Digital Cockpit would be a top pick for drivers all over the world.
